Terms of Service

Last updated: May 26, 2026

1. What Whirl Is

Whirl ("we," "us," "our") is an AI agent that connects to your team's communication and productivity tools. It monitors channels and inboxes for actionable requests, researches answers across your connected tools, creates tasks, and drafts actions for your review.

By using Whirl, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.

2. Accounts and Access

You need an account to use Whirl. Authentication is handled through Clerk. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for all activity under your account.

Whirl is currently in early access. We may limit, suspend, or modify access at any time as the product evolves.

3. How Whirl Works

When you connect your tools (via OAuth), Whirl will:

  • Monitor connected channels (Slack, Gmail, Aircall, WhatsApp) for incoming messages and requests
  • Search across your connected tools (Google Drive, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Basecamp, Google Calendar, Breezeway, Smily, Granola) for relevant context
  • Create tasks and research answers autonomously
  • Draft actions (emails, messages, task updates) and queue them for your approval before execution
  • Use browser tools you configure to browse websites, use saved browser profiles and secrets, extract information, or perform approved website actions

Write actions (sending emails, posting messages, creating events) require your approval or a configured auto-approval rule before they are executed. Whirl will not take external actions on your behalf outside the permissions and rules you configure.

Browser tools may navigate websites, fill fields, click search or filter controls, and return extracted information. Read-only browser tools are instructed not to make permanent changes. Action-capable browser tools are queued for approval before running, and you are responsible for ensuring that the websites you configure may be accessed and automated in this way.

4. Third-Party Integrations

Whirl connects to third-party services through their APIs. When you authorize an integration, you're also agreeing to that service's terms. We currently support integrations with Slack, Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Drive, Notion, GitHub, Linear, Basecamp, Breezeway, Smily, Aircall, WhatsApp, Granola, and configured browser tools.

We store encrypted OAuth tokens to maintain these connections. You can disconnect any integration at any time through your settings.

Browser tools may interact with websites that are not formal API integrations. Those websites remain third-party services with their own terms, privacy policies, rate limits, and access rules. You should not configure Whirl to access a site or account unless you have the right to do so.

5. AI Processing

Whirl uses AI models from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI, Google, and other model providers to understand your messages, research context, and generate responses. Content from your connected tools is sent to these providers for processing.

Whirl may route AI requests through Vercel AI Gateway to access model providers and measure usage and cost. Browser tools use Browser Use as a managed browser automation provider to execute browser sessions, show live previews, record runs where enabled, and return outputs to Whirl.

We do not use customer content from your connected tools to train generalized AI models, build cross-customer datasets, or create benchmarks unless you expressly instruct or opt into that use. Our current sub-processor list is available at /subprocessors.

AI outputs may be inaccurate. You should review all drafted actions before approving them. Whirl is a tool to assist you, not a replacement for human judgment.

6. Your Content

You own your content. We don't claim ownership of any data from your connected tools. We access and process your content solely to provide the service.

You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to connect your organization's tools to Whirl and that doing so complies with your organization's policies.

For business customers, Whirl's Data Processing Addendum applies where Whirl processes personal data on your behalf as a processor.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use Whirl for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, disassemble, or extract source code from the service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Use Whirl to process data you don't have authorization to access
  • Use browser tools to bypass access controls, violate third-party website terms, scrape where prohibited, or perform fraudulent, harmful, or unauthorized transactions
  • Resell or redistribute the service without our permission

8. Service Availability

We aim to keep Whirl available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access. The service depends on third-party providers (Convex, Clerk, AI model providers, AI routing providers, browser automation providers, and integration APIs) that are outside our control. We're not liable for downtime or service disruptions.

9. Limitation of Liability

Whirl is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, profits, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service.

In particular, we are not responsible for actions taken based on AI-generated content, or for any consequences of approved actions executed through connected integrations.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We'll notify you of material changes via email or through the app. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

11. Termination

You can stop using Whirl at any time by disconnecting your integrations and closing your account. We may also suspend or terminate your access if you violate these terms.
